Durabook Delivers World's Toughest Semi-Rugged Computer

Fremont, CA - October 17, 2018 - Durabook Americas, Inc., the North American subsidiary of Twinhead International Corporation, has introduced the most durable semi-rugged computer available. The Durabook S14I exceeds the capabilities of all other devices in it class, with the highest drop and IP ratings, 8th generation Intel® CPU, exceptional graphics performance, and a wide selection of I/O options. The S14I is ideal for demanding markets like public safety, government, military and field service, in applications like asset management, diagnostics and maintenance.

"Our customers are demanding more from their semi-rugged devices, as they expand the definition of the modern workplace," said Joe Guest, President, Durabook Americas. "The design of the Durabook S14I challenges users to take the device out of the office and into the field, where they can work without compromise. The S14I is engineered for non-traditional work environments, delivering military-grade durability, field-worker functionality, desktop performance and hot-swappable batteries for non-stop use. The new Durabook is designed from the inside out to deliver reliability and performance under the most challenging working environment. The S14I pushes the semi-rugged class into new realms."

EXCEPTIONAL DURABILITY
The Durabook S14I expands the definition of semi-rugged computing to include a category first 4' drop rating - a 33% improvement over the typical semi-rugged computers. The S14I is also the first in its class to offer an ingress protection rating of 53 (IP53), making it suitable for use in locations where rain or dust may be a regular occurrence. The device also has an operational range of -4°F - 140°F allowing for use in a wide range of environments.

PREMIUM PERFORMANCE
The Durabook S14I features 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 and i7 Processors options, an Intel® UHD Graphics 620 GPU or an optional NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050. This high-end computing power and exceptional graphics capabilities, enables field workers to tackle the most complex tasks, regardless of location or conditions. The new device also features Windows® 10 Pro, the most secure Windows ever. Windows® 10 meets the needs of DOD customers by offering users a layered defense to help protect, detect and respond to security threats.

FIELD WORKER FUNCTIONALITY
Mobile workers need devices that allow them to work without compromise, and the Durabook S14I is exactly that product. The device features a 14", 1000 Nit, 1920 x 1080 Full HD IPS DynaVue display with Stealth and Night Vision modes. DynaVue technology creates increased clarity and viewability in challenging lighting conditions without sacrificing battery life, allowing mobile workers to maintain productivity. The new Durabook can be used with a stylus, for applications like signature capture; with a glove, so field workers can interact with the S14I without modifying their workflow; in the rain without concern of false readings or unpredictable responses; and with their finger using the 10-point multi-touch capacitive display.

The lightweight S14I also features an integrated carrying handle for ease of transport, a waterproof keyboard, fingerprint scanner, a quick release hard drive allowing sensitive data to be secured in a safe environment, and a hot-swappable/bridge battery design, allowing for non-stop work in the field.

MAXIMUM CONNECTIVITY
To maximize mobile worker performance on the road, the S14I features world-class connectivity, including an Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 9260 WiFi card with a maximum speed of 1.73Gbps, Bluetooth 5.0, which delivers 8x greater bandwidth than Bluetooth 4.2, and with the ability to connect with multiple devices at once. The new Durabook includes a Sierra Wireless EM7565 4G LTE module, certified on the Verizon network, which provides unprecedented LTE speeds, bandwidth, and network performance for mobile workers beyond the range of a WiFi signal.

The device includes various expandable and configurable I/O options, including PCMCIA + Express Card or PCMCIA x2, HDMI, VGA, SIM, RJ-45, USB3.1, USB 2.0, RS-422 an optional RFID reader, LAN, display port x2, RS-232 support and more.
