Two ISO Certifications gained by Cydome

Cydome gains ISO 27001 and ISO 27017 certification, reinforcing its commitment to mitigating the risk of cybercrime for the maritime industry.

Two ISO Certifications gained by Cydome

Cydome, the leading independent provider of ship-wide cybersecurity, is announcing today its certification with two ISO standards: ISO 27001 and ISO 27017. ISO 27001 is the standard for information security management systems; this is a framework of policies involved in companies' information risk management processes. The ISO certifications come in addition to Cydome’s Cyber Essentials certification, a United Kingdom government-backed scheme which helps organisations demonstrate operational security against cyberattacks. These certifications reinforce Cydome’s commitment to mitigating the risk of cybercrime for the maritime industry.

ISO 27001 is a standard in which data privacy is controlled. When used in sync with ISMS, effective data privacy management is achieved. ISO 27017 was developed to ensure the safety of cloud-based environments and SaaS by reducing the risk of security problems. Through these accreditations Cydome is certified to be implementing a Privacy Information Management System, ensuring a safe and secure cloud-based environment for users, thus demonstrating its commitment to the security of data.

The ISO family is made up of more than a dozen standards that aim to enable companies to manage the security of their assets. With the growth of digitalisation, and with it the evolving risk of cyberattacks, it is increasingly important for companies to manage the security of their information. Gaining the certification for these standards demonstrates that Cydome is implementing the correct security management measures to minimise users' risk and exposure to cyberattacks and ransomware on board their vessels.

Nir Ayalon, CEO of Cydome, said: “Data security and integrity is at the heart of what we do at Cydome, so it is great to be officially recognised by ISO regulations to be maintaining the highest of standards. As an independent provider of ship-wide cybersecurity, it is imperative to us to mitigate the risk of attacks on our clients’ data; this is something my team and I have worked tirelessly towards, thus allowing us to gain our certification.”

Cydome has a significant commitment to investing its revenues in R&D, its mission being to advance research into maritime cybercrime with ‘no compromise’. This approach offers clients the highest, most cutting-edge protection possible. Its award-winning ‘always on – always defending’ technology allows users to protect their entire vessels from electronic attacks and hijacking, as well as from reputational risk to fleet managers.
