ClearVUE.Zero Enhances its Carbon Module to Tap onto Scope 3

In a pivotal move towards comprehensive sustainability reporting, ClearVUE.Zero, a trailblazer in energy monitoring and carbon accounting solutions, has significantly upgraded its carbon module to focus on Scope 3 emissions – the often elusive yet critical aspect of greenhouse gas emissions.
Scope 3 emissions, classified into upstream and downstream sources as per the Greenhouse Gas protocol, constitute value chain or indirect emissions, often amounting to a staggering 90% of a business's total emissions. These emissions pose significant measurement and management challenges, often necessitating data gathering from third parties like suppliers and customers.
The momentum towards reducing carbon footprints has been further intensified by growing supplier pressure, exemplified by public procurement requirements that demand companies of all sizes to present their carbon reduction plans. Additionally, the roll-out of sustainability reporting mandates has underscored the indispensability of considering all three scopes of carbon emissions.
In response to these imperatives, ClearVUE.Zero has channelled its technological focus towards bolstering its carbon accounting module, with a special emphasis on Scope 3 emissions. This enhancement is seamlessly integrated with carbon reporting and report generation capabilities across all business sites. Notably, the development of these new features has been aligned with benchmark UK Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) requirements.
The new features include:
1. User-Generated Sites: Users can now create their own sites within the carbon module, facilitating data upload, analysis, and viewing. This expansion broadens data coverage and enriches analysis potential.
2. Revised Intensity Metrics: The Intensity Metrics feature has undergone refinement, enabling more versatile date range selections and site-specific filtering.
3. Site-Specific Filtering: Users managing multiple sites can now filter the carbon module for specific or multiple sites, enabling customised analysis tailored to unique needs.
4. Scope 3 Categories for SECR: ClearVUE.Zero now presents Scope 3 categories pertinent to Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), elevating reporting accuracy and transparency.
5. Simplified ‘Add New Asset’ Flow: The process of adding new assets has been seamlessly streamlined into an intuitive and user-friendly dialogue, enhancing efficiency and ease of use.
As the realm of sustainability reporting continues to evolve, ClearVUE.Zero is steadfastly committed to equipping businesses with the tools they need to navigate and thrive in an increasingly environmentally-conscious landscape. These enhancements serve as a testament to ClearVUE.Zero’s dedication to innovation, accuracy, and sustainability.

New Horizon Releases Innovative Functionality for Optimizing Inbound Logistics Scheduling at DCs

ACTON, Massachusetts – September 3, 2024 – New Horizon Soft, LLC, a global leader in AI-powered supply chain planning software, announced today the release of a new version of its Buyers Workbench procurement planning software. The latest version includes the ability to optimally schedule inbound deliveries, taking into account distribution center (DC) receiving capacity, thus minimizing receiving bottlenecks and lowering inbound logistics costs. A research paper describing the innovative methodology and its deployment at an iconic $10B+ U.S. quick-service restaurant chain was recently published in the peer-reviewed academic journal, the International Journal of Operations Research and Information Systems.

Supply chain organizations typically plan purchase orders without regard to DC receiving capacity. This leads to bottlenecks on some days and underutilized staff on others. New Horizon’s methodology, called Master Purchasing Receipt Scheduling (MPRS), uses a novel algorithm to automatically and optimally schedule deliveries. The algorithm plans deliveries at the time of purchase order creation and results in a steady volume of deliveries and lower planning and logistics costs. While first deployed at a restaurant chain, the methodology is applicable to any manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer, or foodservice company operating high-velocity DCs.
